It may be because I am a guy thats why i am not aware about International Women's Day but this is my attempt to take some effort to learn about it. SO if your a guy or girl who knows nothing about IWD then i encourage you to read the rest of this blog post.
Interesting fact, the first International Women's Day was in 1911. WOAH that was 99 years ago.
The real cool thing I like about IWD is, it is not limited to race, culture, economic or political differences. March 8th is the day where woman from all parts of the globe can come together to celebrate their Day. This day represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development.
Now, IWD is even an official holiday in China, Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Traditionally the men honour their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc with flowers and small gifts. LOL I think this is the least us guys can do I think and woah this is an official holiday in China? I found a that part surprising. Definitely an addition of these new countries to accept IWD is great but getting China to accept it is like super amazing LOL thats like 1/6 of the world's population right there.
